We are a non-smoking house, for your comfort and safety. We can cater for children
of five years of age or over (family room) alas, not under five. Pets are not allowed. We take pride in the cleanliness of the house and our good home cooking which you can find out more about in our menu. (Just click on the menu button above.)

Whether you're visiting Norwich on business or touring the city and it's surrounding countryside, you'll find some interesting and exciting attractions. In our entrance lobby you can browse through information leaflets. There are bus and train timetables and maps to find out more about the area. Directly outside the house on the right is a bus stop (No's 21 & 22) which take you into the city center in only 10 minutes. An excursion by train to London takes less than 2 hours, so a day trip to the capital is always easy. There are also river trips which start adjacent to the train station during summer and many special bus excursions available from the city too.

A little about your hosts

John and Kate moved to Norwich from London in early 2000 after deciding a change in the direction of their lives was needed. After moving in and after some serious thought, they decided to convert Driftwood Lodge into a guest house. It was opened for business in June of the same year and was subsequently rated with a prestigeous '4 Diamonds' award by the East of England Tourist Board.

They own an MG Midget sports car which John rebuilt over a 5 year period and enjoy going for countryside drives when not working. John's actually a bit of a Ferrari fanatic as you'll no doubt see by his model collection and is even learning Italian at present. Kate is into other things including line dancing, cooking and gardening and she also played the drums for many years! There's no drum kit now though, so guests are assured of a restful stay.
